Is that why my SUUNTO Vyper consistently reads about 2-3% shallower than everything else including other computers or is there some other reason. And other than account for it is there any fix?

Yup, barrel with 2 o-rings. I can kinda see that the o-rings are pretty well into the smooth part of the barrel and assuming it's not conical to some degree which I doubt then it should seal but I figured I'd ask as I am forging into new territory here.

When assembling my doubles, if both tank bands are bolted tight and the manifold is screwed in to the point where it is neither pulling the tops of the tanks together nor pushing them apart, there is more than 1/8" of manifold threads showing... With a caliper I measure it at about 0.16" or...

I'll reply to several of your questions..... Re: warm, clear, water... Easier to see exactly where and what is going on with your buddy=better chance of help; Warm water=nice flexible thin wetsuit; move faster, turn faster, reach things better. All makes it easier to rely on buddy than cold...

No the trip down is at least 45 degrees straight down, 1-2 minutes to bottom. As far as the bottom depth, the bottom was bumpy so to speak and I remember some of it in the low 90's, some in the mid 80's and maybe a 70. Median depth could very well have been in the 80's somewhere. It is...
