    sp-350

Thanks. As mentioned above, you can go threaded or AD. I recommend AD in an underwater environment. Trying to screw/unscrew a threaded lens can cause you to miss an opportunity and even make you drop the lens. Inon makes AD mounts for a variety of underwater housings. My AD mount cost about $60...

    sp-350

Yes, all of them were done with the SP-350. All of them were using either the Inon UFL-165AD fisheye or the UCL-165AD close up lenses. Eddy.

    sp-350

I love my UFL-165AD fisheye. It allowed me to get closer and therefore get better lighting from my strobe. I also use the AD mount which allows me to switch WA to macro lenses under water. Checkout the pix below which I took with the fisheye lens. I'm writing a review of the Inon attachment...

    Coco view - Roatan

Definitely a resort for diving, you'll get bored if you don't. To leave the resort you have to take a water taxi. See my report below. Eddy.

2AA do not equal 1 CRV3, how many shots do you get w/ CRV3?

I have an SP-350 and YS-110 as well. I've been using Targus 1300 mAh CRV3 rechargeables and Lenmar AA 2700 mAh. They last about 2.5 dives with about 80+ pictures. I do have a Heinrichs TTL connector, so that saves juice by not using the internal flash. I also have a ZTS Mini Multi-Battery and...

    Sanyo's "eneloop" AA rechargeable batteries

I just got some Eneloop batteries myself for an "old school" Nikonos SB-105 strobe. They worked beautifully. The SB-105 will not work with 2700 mAh rechargeable batteries. These are the batteries that I was using on a S&S YS-110. I believe older equipment has issues with higher ampere batteries...

    Where to find a new SP-350 on-line?

Hmm ... good to know ... I bought mine strictly online, so I had no such problems. This was my backup camera, so I knew what I was getting. The camera arrived fine. For advise and service, I tend to rely on uwphoto.com (Fred) or reefphoto.com (Ryan). But sometimes, they don't have the...

    Where to find a new SP-350 on-line?

I got my second SP-350 from Trusted Dealer: Trusted Dealer - Power By Blueswitch Although I was able to get it for about $240 about 6 months ago. It's now listed for over $300 now. You can still get the housing from Amazon for about $180: Store - Underwater Photography Eddy.

    Trip Report - CocoView, Roatan

Yes, indeed the food was plentiful, tasty and varied. They also had snacks in the afternoon, like sandwiches and cookies. There's no real "town" in Roatan that you can go easily, you would have take the water taxi to get out of the resort and a taxi from there. When we were there we just...

Compilation: Ways to Flood a Camera

I ruined a TTL connector while unscrewing it from the housing while there was water on the connector threads. The water sipped it and the connector got corroded. Now I learned to unscrew the connector with the camera upside down (connector facing down). That way if there's any water it will...

    SP-350, PT-030 & Nikonos SB105?

Thanks for the reply. I have a buddy who flooded his Nikonos camera and is thinking of switching to digital. I suggested him to get the SP-350 with a Heinrichs connector and keep his Nikonos strobe. Good to know that there are others doing the same. If I have the chance, I'll try a Nikonos...

    SP-350, PT-030 & Nikonos SB105?

Having a "Nikonos 5-pin" cable with my SP-350 and PT-030 (with Heinrichs TTL connector) lead me to do a bit of research into the Nikonos SB105 strobes. Has anybody tried the SP-350 with a Nikonos strobe? They don't make strobes with a guide number of 33 anymore, like the Nikonos. That's...
