Olympus TG-5 and Inon AD wet lenses - adapters?

Hi all, I need some advice, please. I have an Olympus TG-5, with the PT-58 housing. My buddy recently managed to score some free Inon wet lenses - UWL-105AD and UCL-165AD and gave them to me. I'm trying to figure out what adapter I need to get to use them with my camera housing. Could anyone...

Is this an over-reaction/what would you do?

Didn't know the computer was a prerequisite. The dive here wasn't particularly deep (about 22m max) and, as far as NDLs were concerned, she was much more likely to run out of air before she ran out of NDL time. I have to say that early on I did some dives relying on my buddy's or DM's computer...

Depth: 95 ft, In Deco, 500 psi, No Buddy

I think one problem is that people don't read their computer manuals and don't know what the computer is telling them when they go into deco for the first time. Recently was in a group with a diver who blew off the deco obligation because he didn't know what his computer was showing...

Is this an over-reaction/what would you do?

Doesn't sound harsh at all. I was going to put buddy in quote marks to indicate that there was no proper buddy relationship, but thought that would look petty. There was not much time for buddies to talk or to do a proper buddy check. I made sure to show him how my gear worked (weights, releases...

Is this an over-reaction/what would you do?

Admins - please feel free to move if this is not the appropriate forum, I'm not sure this is classified as a "near miss". During a recent dive trip there was a minor (or potential) incident involving another diver and I was wondering whether my response to it was an over-reaction or how would...

Was this a terrible idea, or merely a bad idea?

If you had an understanding of narcosis, ndls, knew how to read your dive computer and had an appreciation of how fast your air disappears at that depth, it doesn't sound like that dive, in perfect conditions and with 2 attentive DMs, is the worst thing to do. You'd be doing a deep dive as part...

    Dusk diving is pretty cool!!

I love sunset dives. Watching the light change under water, the different critters going to sleep or waking up. It is the most relaxing diving IMO. ☺night dives are pretty cool, but I suffer from disorientation, so they are not as relaxing. Dusk dives are the best of both worlds!

    Air consumption rates.

lol, yes, in SAC rate at least. I am about half your size :-) It is amazing how some people who are not small manage such low consumption rates. I guess you can take credit for having achieved it, rather than it being a fluke of nature.

    Diver Panic Story

52 degrees F and 2 foot visibility is an easy dive?

    Air consumption rates.

For the dives since I started downloading computer data, my average sac is about 10l/min. It varies between 8l/min on a very relaxed dive with an Al63 tank and close to 14 l/min on a dive where we spent most of the time kicking against the current. It may be pretty low, but doesn't have much to...

    letting others down?

Frankly, if my buddy went chasing a fish to 37m, leaving me behind and created a situation that the dive guide had to go and get them, I'd see that as letting me down. Having a higher air consumption is not a let down. Some people will use more air. Some people (like me) will come up with 150...

Ruined my buddies dive, felt like an idiot.

It happens. There are worse things that buddies can do to ruin a dive :-) Your buddy might be one of those people who just has a very low air consumption naturally. I commonly have dives where I am diving on a smaller tank than my buddy and coming up with 100 bar of air when my buddy and/or...

    Lizard Island fatality - Australia

How sad. I did the cod hole dive on the Spirit of Freedom as well. Easy dive, even for a very inexperienced diver and the team on the boat were fantastic. Sad for the lady's family and that it should happen on a very good liveaboard too.

question about weights and zeagle zena

I bought a zena and weight use didn't change from rental bcd. But I now put half the weights in trim pockets, which I find really helpful

    Liveaboard for beginner

:-) I had about 9 dives first time I went and 35 the second time and both times travelled alone with no db. You'll have a great time!

Weight Difference Between Al80 And A Steel 10.5l

Hi all, I'm off to do some diving, after almost half a year absence. The dive op have advised they use steel 10.5l tanks, which I understand are nice and compact, which should be perfect. However I have only ever dived with AL tanks. With an AL80 I need 3.2kg of weight with the thermal...

    Liveaboard for beginner

I've been on the Spirit twice, both times as an inexperienced diver, they looked after me very well indeed. Lovely boat and crew.

What are some of the most beautiful sights you saw while diving?

Ooh, this thread is making me look forward to my next dive vacation. Ok most awesome moments include: - first ow dive and realising that I can do this! (Much contrary to my expectations) - drifting above a 1000m drop, with gorgeous wall to one side and sharks to the other (osprey, gbr) - school...

Nautilus 2 - The Maldives - dive trip report.

What an excellent report. I'm curious about the dm to diver ratio. About how many divers did they have to one dm? Sent from my XT905 using Tapatalk

    Zena BC set up

I have an smb and a little glow stick in a net bag, clipped to the plastic d-ring at end of right shoulder strap and then held with a bungee loop through the waist strap, so out doesn't dangle. Spare torch attached the same way to left shoulder strap. Gauge console is clipped to left hip...
