The Waterman is for commercial use like fishing and launching docks. Not only is it not dive rated neoprene (it'll compress at depth,) but it's stiff as a board. The "Premium" neoprene is a good budget-conscious alternative to Henderson's Thermoprene line. Very, very popular.

You're maxing out the chest in the 4XL, making the 5XL the best starting point. Both the original Thermorprene and the new Thermoprene Pro come in 5XL.

I've never experienced neoprene degradation over time. You should be just fine.

One of my all-time favorite suits. Really warm due to the fleece inside & taped seams. It's a surf suit, not dive, so expect a little compression at depth, but not a biggie for the 70's.

Personal preference. I HATE diving with a hood, to the point that I'd rather dive without a hood. If the neck bothers you, start troubleshooting. Try the next size up and see if it eases the burden. If not, something is better than nothing, so try eliminating the bib.

It'll be a little more comfy once wet, but don't expect the high-end neoprene to "stretch out" much. Next size up would be about 1.5 inches wider, and 1" longer. Do you think that would make it too big, or just right?

Separates work, but not as well. It'll absolutely flush. Have you looked at any "in-between" sizes like XLS (Extra Large Short?) That is basically the chest of an XL with the length of a L.
