Scooter models: BlackTip Tech, Purchased from Jan 2023 through Jan 2024
Document date: February 15th 2024
In the last 6 months it has been reported that two (2) BlackTip Tech Scooters have failed at depths shallower than their rated depth.
At this time the cause is...
Went to Madison today for the first time since full cave. When we did full cave my instructor made a point to go to Martz to show me one of the last snap and gaps in the area. But today I dropped into Martz and the snap and gas was gone? When did that happen?
During the past couple of years as I've been working on my cave diving videos I've struggled with green videos, despite setting my WB to the color temperature of my lights and setting the color profile to flat. Yes there is a very minor green tint to the water, but the GoPro was massively...
Just a FYI the bone line jump from the main line appears to be missing an arrow. I don't know who provided those nicer arrows that were there, but I have a spare arrow I can drop next time I hit Ginnie.
Just a quick off the cuff video I took to test the GoPro 12's new HDR mode. @Capt Jim Wyatt students were doing a safety stop as I finished deco. It wasn't planned so the sun was in a horrible place. And I still need to do some testing to work out the colors smoothly, I had to keyframe like...
From the same people that did the interview with Woody Jasper, they did one with Scott Hunsucker. I really enjoyed listening to this while I was working this morning.
YT Link in case the embed doesn't work.
Other than the obvious battery and nose o-ring, what else is there to look for if purchasing a used Suex? Trying to figure out if I want to take a chance on a used one or not.
I was looking to add a valve stem and related parts to my save a dive kit, but I have three common valves in my fleet. I was looking at the schematics and I don't see specs for the washers.
So I was wondering how compatible are the parts between valves. In particular I have DGX, Thermo, and...
My power inflator was leaking from the button, so I dissassembled it, cleaned it, and replaced the orings. Now I can't get the inlet valve to screw back in. It doesn't feel like the threads are engaging. Any tips?
Just saw on Facebook, Orange Grove is now reopened. Water level looks normal but the basin appears very tannic.
The pictures make the place look very different.

No video because things went pear shaped due to someone pulling the line I was intending to film on. And my attempts to rush the setup resulted in clownshoes.
GP-Log mode is broken was underexposing in daylight, and doesn't allow filming in HDR mode.
HDR has a noticeable increase in dynamic...
Figured I would share this here as I am on my last straw with the Terics.
I am incredibly frustrated with the Teric. I own two Terics that I purchased in 2019. In the last four years each Teric has had at least 6 repairs/replacement due to battery issues for each computer. Each time I am told...
Did you lose a sex toy in Ginnie? Well I might have found your dildo at the Maple Leaf. Describe it (size, shape, color, etc) and I can arrange for its return.
:rofl3:
Got back into Ginnie after taking last week off, and found that the sign in the eye had been moved and there is a huge amount of sand missing where the sign used to be. Anyone have any skinny on what happened? The rocks by the log have also moved.
Spent the last couple of weeks at Ginnie working on this video. Sorry to anyone annoyed by my reel that was in there for that period. I think this one came out a little better than the last one, though the lower flow and larger rooms proved to be a lot more difficult.
Link for devices that...
So apparently from the manager lady, longish black hair and tanned, even with an annual pass they will no longer will allow you to leave with a pass for the next day. They will keep it on the board that you have to pick up in the morning. So make sure you get there before they open.
I get random cuts on my hands typically on my knuckles, likely brushing against other equipment while clipping and unclipping stuff.
Normally I just let them heal naturally as I typically go a week between dives and they are fairly shallow. But I want to do more trips with multiple diving days...
