    Newbie

Hi , Old Prop, Welcome, teacher here too, and ... like you, I find diving a bit costly on what they pay us. Still, its worth it. Not a lover of cold water either but as I'm in the UK, no choice. My other half bought me a made to measure trilaminate drysuit and under suit for christmas...

    How deep is dangerous?

Thanks Doc, and everyone. Yes ... with hindsight, I can see that the logical thing would have been to fin back down. I think my mind was more taken up with exchanging gases and keeping lung volume low. Well, despite my lucky episode, I still have a very healthy respect for the safety rules...

    How deep is dangerous?

Thanks guys ( n girls) I was beginning to wonder if I had been taught "scare stuff" but now I realise that I'd better hang on to everything that I had learned. Tell you what tho' this year, on holiday, I'm gonna use my own BCD for every dive, even if it does mean packing wet gear in...

    LADIES--a BCD Question

I have a Tusa ladies BCD, It does have the velcro cummerband but its low enough to avoid the boobs. What I like about it, is, the shoulders are nice and narrow, so I dont have to fin, hanging my thumbs into my shoulders ( to stop my tank slipping around ) I guess the best advice would be to take...

    Getting serious about getting Dry

My drysuit has a latex neck seal but a neoprine overlay for warmth. OK, so its so new I cant tell you if it really works but I dive in cold UK waters and its a favourite over here. Dry suit manufacturers over here, will fit any boots you want, onto your dry suit. I spec they do there too. Neff

    How deep is dangerous?

Can anyone tell me, what is the maximum depth before an uncontrolled ascent becomes dangerous ? Last August, I had been using my own BCD with no problems but on the last day of holiday diving, I stupidly used a BCD from the back of a dive schools supply. I confess that I did not test...

    Waterman Skill Test- help!

Cant help but agree with Perdidochas, just get yourself to a pool. as often as possible and swim. I train pool lifeguards and teach swimming. The advice given to you before ( about S stokes etc, ) is all correct, but wont help you unless someone shows you. You could look for an "Adult...

Cold Water Die-Hards vs. Warm Water Wimps

I got the "bug" in the red sea and then only dived in warm waters for a few years. I went to greece to do my OW but returned to our colder murkier british waters, just because I wanted to dive more often than just when I could afford a holiday. I've joined a club back here and dived in some...

My First Photos with Canon A710 IS

Hey Sarita, the pics are pretty good. I too used my Canon Ixus underwater this year for the first time. We've been interested on shooting octopus. ( with the cam of course ) which is a little easier as they are mostly on the bottom ( well luring them out is, anyway ) so it was easier to keep...
