I wonder if there would be a market for two lines of OW courses--a Premium Open Water class (8 weeks--which includes skills and material covered in AOW--which should be in OW!!) and a Budget Open Water (as is)? At least some people would benefit from market drivers...

That's true for fit, too. On a Zena, I take a small everything else, but a medium shoulder. Did a lot of searching, but nothing else fit me quite right...

I notice that when I'm underwater, something in my yoga practice takes over my body and mind. In yoga, it only feels right when the breath wraps around and guides the pose (rather than the other way round). I notice the same thing in scuba--managing the breath is guiding the mind; I feel tuned...

Goals: Keep learning from each dive experience; keep training. And recruit enough friends and family so that I'll always have a dive-buddy on a rainy day.:coffee:

Has anyone else experienced the benefits of yoga for scuba? dynamic breath control, controlled inner state of mind, relaxed concentration, toned muscle groups, flexibility, etc.? I'd be interested to hear about how yoga helps your scuba (or vice-versa)...

When I'm under water, the epiphany of just "being" often radiates out from somewhere deep within me. Every time, it is a new experience. The slow, methodical mechanics of staying alive suppress all other thoughts about the world above; in the world above, the politics of living, working, war...

Oddly enough, I think it seems to happen most when I'm horizontal. When I'm descending or ascending and vertical, no trouble. To give an example, I was swimming horizontally at about 70 ft.; when I gradually swam to a slightly lower depth (65 ft. or so), still horizontally, I noticed I had too...
