    Noobie from Ohio!!!

Had to say hello 'cuz although I no longer live in Ohio, spent some of the best years of my life there. Of course, that was before I got certified, so I don't have much to pass on to you except a hearty welcome from another 'noobie'.

To those considering an OW class...

I wonder if there would be a market for two lines of OW courses--a Premium Open Water class (8 weeks--which includes skills and material covered in AOW--which should be in OW!!) and a Budget Open Water (as is)? At least some people would benefit from market drivers...

    The Brass Spike

Have booked a morning dive with Lynnhaven in Va. Beach to dive the Brass Spike. I've done a limited web search about the wreck, but have come up with quite little about it. Has anyone ever dove it? Have anything to say about it? Awesome wreck? Like it well enough? So-so? Don't do it? Any...

    Yoga and Scuba?

I notice that when I'm underwater, something in my yoga practice takes over my body and mind. In yoga, it only feels right when the breath wraps around and guides the pose (rather than the other way round). I notice the same thing in scuba--managing the breath is guiding the mind; I feel tuned...

    Your Goals in Diving

Goals: Keep learning from each dive experience; keep training. And recruit enough friends and family so that I'll always have a dive-buddy on a rainy day.:coffee:

    Bad Dive Master

Aquanautchuck said: "Don't get me going about the limited training and dives required by agencies. I just do not understand this Put Another Dollar In concept. " In academia, we have a wonderful phrase for this, which seems to me to be especially applicable-- "Pack 'em Deep, Teach 'em Cheap!"

    Yoga and Scuba?

Has anyone else experienced the benefits of yoga for scuba? dynamic breath control, controlled inner state of mind, relaxed concentration, toned muscle groups, flexibility, etc.? I'd be interested to hear about how yoga helps your scuba (or vice-versa)...

Dive personna vs. the "real" you

When I'm under water, the epiphany of just "being" often radiates out from somewhere deep within me. Every time, it is a new experience. The slow, methodical mechanics of staying alive suppress all other thoughts about the world above; in the world above, the politics of living, working, war...

    Zeagle Octo not purging?

Oddly enough, I think it seems to happen most when I'm horizontal. When I'm descending or ascending and vertical, no trouble. To give an example, I was swimming horizontally at about 70 ft.; when I gradually swam to a slightly lower depth (65 ft. or so), still horizontally, I noticed I had too...
