I think it's interesting how many people on this thread talk about their perspective as an instructor, what works and what doesn't. I haven't seen much discussion or anyone ask a quesiton about what any newish divers on this thread think about how their training was conducted.

This thread seems like a great place for instructors to ask students (at least one) how they feel about different teaching methods, yet this hasn't happened.

It happened IRL. I always got feedback from my students as to what worked and what didn't. Of course, the real proof was in how well they dove and are they still diving.
