I misread the original post. I thought you said you had been diving 10 years ago and now you are getting certified. Ya like everyone else has said 10 years is too long. I think the referral letter is only good for a year.
 
Hey thanks everyone for the offers and advice , I was in Arkansas during that time and it was summer. I just got taken , thats all.
Today I'm in Branson Mo and Table Rock lake has a few dive instructors local. Its all done IN the lake. Open water too.. I've already checked it out.
Yes I would need to retrain, Most certainly .
