Can anybody tell me whether there is any diving in the Lake Winnipeg area? My family has a cabin near Gimli, and I'd love to do some diving while I'm up there (if there is any).

Mark, there's lots of SAND.

There were rumours of old WWII planes in the water off the runway, but those rumours were squashed by Scotty during is presentation at MUC's AGM. CAST (the Canadian Amphibious Search Team and others) have looked all over there and not found a thing with better equipment than you or I would have access too. It's likely they were pulled out during the War for spare parts/repair.

I'm afraid your best bet (right now) is West Hawk, and east into Ontario or Riding Mountain and Duck Mountain.
