I realize that 30/30 is the standard gas, but AG has written about 25/25 and it seems to me that it would be a lot easier to blend. It seems you could just fill a cylinder with 25% He and take to a shop that banks 32% and have it topped off. That would mean 1 less cylinder and less worry handling 100% O2. I don't have a shop in my area that has He and I'm not sure that they wouldn't get nervous if I told them there was He in the tank. Do you have any problems getting top offs from non tech shops?

Yep, I've blended 25/25. We were just learning trimix (still am for that matter), wanted to take baby steps so we thought that would be a good mix for getting our feet wet. Also we didn't have an drysuit inflation bottle so we wanted to go easy on the He. I didn't really notice the cooling effect.

Fortunately we just got our compressor going so we didn't have to mess with finding a shop to do top offs (the only shop around here that would have done it had just gone out of business).

Not sure how it is in FL but in Texas almost no one would knowingly top a home brew. Helium ist verboten.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't realize this was in the DIR forum.
