Anyone ever DIY a canister light?

I just don't log dives
This thought occured to me today while looking at these things online. Doesnt seem like too hard of task, but has anyone here done it?

What are your thoughts on the subject. Do-able and cost effective?

Been there done that works great... I'm in the process of converting it to a 13 watt HID light head now using the black delrin light head in the picture below.
