I'm doing my first dry suit dives in a week in Alaska, and while I have good gear, I'm worried about losing feeling in my fingers and toes after 15 minutes. Someone at the LDS mentioned something called Lava Pads to stick in gloves and boots.

Anyone here ever try it?

Here's what they look like.

I'm going to order some and give it a whirl, but I was curious if anyone's tried it already.

Thanks!

I watched Werner Herzog's movie Encounters at the End of the World and the divers in Antartica used something like that for their dives in water that was -2 C.

I'm a big Herzog fan, so that's a great rec!

I'm going to try it out next week and I'll report that! :)

I was thinking of going to Home Depot and try the regular heating pads inside my gloves but it was just a tought. So please post or PM me about the results and where did you buy the LavaPads?
Thanks

LP sells them for $10 but they are too big, hander warmder kaput! :(
