OBTW, How much do you charge for only tanks and weights for Divemasters? Thanks!

Hi Iamafish,

We specialise in guided diving and do not offer tank or equipment rental only. There are shops in Bali that do. Although unless you are a highly experienced, good spotter with insider tips on what to see where I would strongly recommend getting a good dive guide.
If you are really keen to go independantly, ask around some of the shops in Bali.

Good Diving

Thanks! But, I have already seen a few sites in Tulamben and Amed with local DMs and am sure I don't need a guide or baby sitter for the Tulamben Liberty wreck. That is just about the easiest dive site I have even seen in my life! There are many very happy couples divers there who only go with tanks and weights and they are very happy.

So, it's OK to not rent tanks and weights to DMs if you don't want to; but I would not recommend you over emphasis the need for a "spotter" to enjoy diving the Liberty Wreck. It is an easy solo dive for qualified DM/solo divers (like me).

OBTW, I found a number of very nice dive centers in Tulamben and Amed who rent tanks, weights and gear to qualified divers, and they do it with a lot of respect and courtesy for divers with the experience and qualifications to dive as pleases them.

There is nothing wrong with your business model of not renting tanks and weights to DMs or other qualified divers; but on the other hand, there are certainly plenty of excellent and very courteous dive shops who are helpful and do accommodate the needs of divers who know when we need a guide and when we don't need a guide :D If we want a guide, we will ask for one; but we certainly don't need to be "told" we need one to point out "things" to us, especially at the Liberty Wreck, which is just about the easiest wreck dive on the planet.

Hi Iamafish,

To get the best out of the USAT Liberty wreck and its surrounding marine life, you should absolutely make sure that you go with an experienced local guide. You may have dived there before but i guarantee that if you explain to the guide exactly what you want from your dive then he will find you the ornate and robust ghostpipe fish, the orangutan crabs, the harlequin and tiger shrimps or the boxer crabs and believe me much much more; you will come up after the dive believing you made the right choice in taking a guide.
