Here's another before pic. This is a thru-deck fitting. There are remnants of wood in the ID (inside diameter) of the fitting so I didn't clean it out.

The after pic. Nice and clean.
Notice the letter "H" on the below deck portion of the fitting.
Don't know what it means. Thought it was a foundry mark but I'm having doubts now because each piece of hardware has a differant letter on them.

This is some sort of heat exchanger I think.
Black part is cast iron. It crumbled to nothing when I disassembled it. The main body is bronze.
After pictures are coming soon.

Forgot to mention this picture was taken after I power washed it.
I don't have any pics of when this item was first pulled up.
The chunk taken out in the upper right hand corner was taken out with the power washer. It just shows what kind of condition the cast iron was in.

This part didn't clean up that nicely. Ill be re-soaking it again.
Underneath the cast iron cap were the slot-like passageways. Dark grey area around the slots is solder.
From these pictures it should be easy to tell this is some sort of heat exchanger.
This part weighs 19 pounds.
There is no manufacturer name on it. Only some numbers and letters.
I have more stuff to post.

I need help here. I know what this thing is but I don't know what it is called.
This is a bronze frame that is 10" long, 6" wide and an inch thick.
It was bolted on the outside of the hull just above the deck so the dock line could pass through it.

Nobody knows !?!? I'm suprised!
This "frame" was from a steel ship. The hull thickness was 1/4 inch.
An oval hole was cut into the gunnel and the raised portion on the back side of the frame was inserted into it. The raised portion is 1/4 inch thick so it was flush with the inside of the gunnel.
I have some more stuff if anyone is interested in seeing it.
My girlfriend thinks no one is interested in the "junk" (as she calls it) I'm posting.
I just tell her....if she was a diver, she would understand. But maybe she is right. After all..I'm the only one posting on this thread.
So, let me know, my best find is yet to come.
