We are setting up a cenote dive for next week. so... what do you acutally see down there? Is it really dark? So.. there is an overhead environment but you are close to an exit?? is that it? What about snorkeling there (family members that don't dive). Is that a good experience and again, what do you see?? Thanks for the info!
You will see beautiful rock formations - stalagmites & stalactites, crystal clear fresh water (~78F, full wetsuits). It will be totally dark away from the exits, but you will have a dive light with another for backup. Non Certified cave divers must stay with rec. limits of breathable air, ~130 ft. from an exit or open cavern. The dive instructor (cave certified) will have double tanks for safety. They will not take you to possible dangerous cenotes, don't ask. Always, always use a reputable cave diving specialist. It's great and yea, non divers can snorkel in the cenotes.
