If you switch to a full face mask, you can breath through your nose conditioning the air. I use an AGA mask and never get dry mouth, or salt water mouth, or mask fog!

I seem to recall you complaining about cottonmouth on our last trip. But that might have been more related to the beer and tequila.

I was thinking of the Apollo Biofilter as another alternative for the cottonmouth situation.

I second the idea of using a metal second stage. I started diving using rental equipment which included plastic regs. I got dry mouth pretty frequently. When I bought my own, I made sure to go with metal. It greatly reduced my dry mouth issues.

FYI, I use a Scubapro mk17/A700 reg. I highly recommend it.

I second the A700. I was diving an S600 and my mouth was getting uncomfortably dry until I spoke with a fellow diver on the boat who switched to an A700 and said it really helped his dry mouth. So I bought one and to me it is an amazing difference. I don't even think about dry mouth any more.
