Hi BKK Divers,
Our club has the opportunity to have a private boat to dive in Koh Tao
so that we can avoid the crowds, chose the dive sites based on better visibility & less divers underwater.
For the private boat, we need at least 10 divers (we have 7 so far) so if you're available April 6-8 long weekend & are INTERESTED please RSVP ME or reply here.
Rooms & accommodations in Koh Tao fill up quickly so we are hoping to have confirmed numbers by mid March 2013.
More details to be come once we have better ideas on the number of divers interested in joining!
Koh Tao is usually "in-season" at this time & the visibility is generally very good.
Accommodation & Diving:
Pricing will be similar to Koh Tao prices & prices listed here is approximate.
Diving: Approx 700-800 Baht/dive depending on total number of dives
Accommodation: starts at 250Baht in a dorm room & up! ...with discounts if a package of dives are pre-booked for.
However, advanced booking is best as Koh Tao accommodation can fill up quickly!
Transportation:
We will leave Friday night to catch the 7am ferry from Chumphon.
We are planning to return to Bangkok by early Tuesday morning to maximize the dive days.
Depending on how many people we get. We will either take the train, bus, or car pool.
620-690 Baht on a train sleeper. BKK train station to Koh Tao (each way).
Train departs Bangkok at 7pm, arrives 5-6am at Chumphon.
550-600 Baht from Chumphon train station to Koh Tao via ferry (each way).
Ferry will depart Chumphon 7-9am to Koh Tao. Depart Koh Tao 4pm so we can dive the same day too.
Car Pooling approx costs: fuel (LPG) approx 1500 baht return. Car park 50 baht per day. 4-5 divers per car. Approx 4-5 hours.
