block island accomodations

My buddy and I are planning a trip to dive around block island. We're looking for marina and sleeping for two nights. Probably next weekend. Any suggestions ?

If you are looking for a romantic place, the 1661 Inn - Staples room is the place. I stayed there in the off-season last year and really enjoyed it. Here is a link for Block Island. You really can't go wrong anywhere but the season is winding down. I went around Thanksgiving last year and many stores and attractions were closing up for the season.

but there's a camp ground or two on the mainland near Block Island.

Personally, I slept in the back of my station wagon when I went. I recommend avoiding the sausage biscuit.

where are you going to be diving? Shore? Boat? Do you have a dive op picked out, or are you gonna be on your own? Just curious.... you can stay cheaper in RI and take a charter boat out to dive off of block.
