Wood-strip built sea kayak with the rear compartment converted to tank use. I helped a friend many years ago build such a kayak (minus the SCUBA adaptations) - what a beautiful boat. I've wanted one of my own ever since, but that whole time & money thing's kept it nothing more then a dream...

This is the one I'd make; correciton, the one I one day WILL make.

Or this one!

If I could afford it! Tiger Woods yacht, complete with compressors and Nitrox!

Ideally, I'd like an 18' center console RIB with tank racks, a compressor, live well, and side scan sonar. Not so big that it owns me, but big enough to be seaworthy and get me and some buddies to the sites I'm most interested in.

I'd gladly dive off of Dave's dream boat, but would I want to own it? No way!

My is "in the mail". Should be here in 6/2007.

15.5 ft aluminum RIB with a custom tank rack for 8 cylinders, anchor locker, tiny console, bench seat box, and running lights. 60hp yamaha. 2700lb capacity, 4 air chambers, hypalon fabric. Will need a color GPS with fishfinder unit. Should do about 22-25 knots fully loaded with 4 divers in doubles or 8 singles.

One of these:

There is no "perfect boat", but this one will be perfect for me, my buddies, and my local diving.

Congrats rjack! :D
You are right about the "perfect boat".
It's a lot of thinking with priorities etc to determine the main properties of the boat.

Not intended to make anyone slobber on themselves but here is the new toy that is in production as we type.

http://www.almarboats.com/2004/content/raiv.php Go to the gallery and click on the third RAIV from the left. It's the 26X10 with twin outboards. Ours will have twin 250 hp Evenrudes and should exceed 70.

The motor guards, tow guard high on the stern, locker behind the helm won't be there. There will be tank boxes in front and to the rear of the helm and the bladder will be a medium blue

For a mear 90K anyone can have one.

Hi again! It's been a while from my last visit here. I've been busy with work and my project. Have some pictures and sketches here (if someone's intrested) http://www.boatdesign.net/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/500/ppu ser/23741
They aren't so fancy like the CAD software produced 3D pictures of the awsome designs produced by more pro designers... but.. I'm building a boat, not dreaming of selling any plans to nobody:eyebrow:
Anyways the winter is about at it's last days here (only 1-2' of snow left) and hope I get the boat building to go on very soon.

Some data:
LOA (length overall) 33'
Displacement 5.5 tons
3 cabins (beads 6+2)

Link not going to your boat :(

Sweet Teddy! It is my dream to build a boat but I simply do not have the yard space.

Is that retractable bow thruster your idea?
It is nice to have hundreds of Bessys avaliable! I keep telling my wife, I can never have enough calmps. She still just snears and goes back into the house.
