I'm asking what you guys are seeing.
Our experience is that there are so few lobster. I tried to go deeper - and at 112 feet found commercial lobster traps.
When I came back up we saw a lobster boat putting down what looked like different traps even out deeper.
Is there too much commercial lobstering being done now, or have they only just started lobstering recently (I know that commercial lobstering used to be big in the keys), or... ?
Some of my friends believe the commercial lobstering has always been done north of Ft. Lauderdale, and they may be right. All I know is that there are layers of baited traps lobsters will have to get through on their way to/from the depths, and that we're just not seeing viable lobster on our trips out this year.
