I think everyone is trying to say .... get the BP/W. Computer is not a necessity.

Now that the smoke cleared, sounds like you need a computer first. I was just going to tell you how much I like my AERIS Atmos Elite.

Hmm. So you think I should get the wing first? What's your reasoning on that?

Switching to a BP/wing seems to be a fundamental change, while a different computer
seems incidental. You decide. I'm biased.

:hmmm:

So, would I just ignore my air-only computer on a nitrox dive that, if it were an air dive, would go into deco time?

No, you could use it as a time depth indicator, although the nonstop beeping could get annoying.

This indicates that you are utterly dependent on a computer (I am too sort of). Does
that seem like a good idea to you? What happens when they take over the world?

Well, not really. I don't really mind using one, or not using one, but I like the ability to look at my wrist and see exactly how much more no-deco time I have. We usually go to Virgin Gorda, BVI, and one of my favorite dives there is the Chikuzen. Dive BVI recently got nitrox at their Leverick Bay shop, so I'm planning to get certified and then make use of the nitrox to extend my bottom times at the deeper sites such as the Chikuzen.

Well, in the sudden flurry of posts in this thread, I've gone from pro-wing to pro-computer, and back again a million times. Thanks for the input on this. Any other reasoning for either side?
