Grumpy Old Divers This "club" is for elderly recreational and technical divers worldwide. Feel free to discuss all kinds of age related dive issues here.

Elderly...

Well, I'm going on 49 later this month Don and I have a looooooong way to go before elderly. What is the definition of elderly anyway? Like 90 and above?

Technically I suppose the definition fits...

American Heritage Dictionary - eld·er·ly (ěl'dər-l&#275:wink: adj.
1. Being past middle age and approaching old age; rather old.
2. Of, relating to, or characteristic of older persons or life in later years.

Maybe we could change the language? Dutch: bejaard

The "rather old" reference is a bit much. 49 huh? If life expectancy is around 72 or so, then middle aged would start around 36 I guess and range to around 54 or so - depending on how you look at it.

Yeah it'd be different if "respect your elders" was still taught.
