where can i purchase this DEPP insurance here in southern california? and must you insure your other dive gears 1st before they can insure your camera and housing?

Really Rocha?? When I insured my stuff last october, I was under the impression that I HAD TO have a set of dive gear on the list too....not only camera gear....

With DEPP you are required to insure at least 2 pieces of life support gear, ie. BC and regs before you can cover any photo equipment.

You should give them a call or send an e-mail to confirm this. I sent them an e-mail about two months ago when I was shopping for insurance and asked specifically about this. Here is their answer:

"We did require one BCD, one Regulator and one other dive item be listed. That is no longer necessary as that restriction was lifted 3 weeks ago. Camera gear only is now eligible.

I ended up going with DAN for other reasons (mainly because they seem to be faster and will send you a check instead of a replacement).
