Can VT3 warranty be transferred?

I have an opportunity to buy an Oceanic VT3 dive computer that is still new in the box from someone who bought it and now needs to sell it before they had a chance to try it out. Is the warrantee transferrable to me as long as they bought it from an authorized dealer and I have the original receipt? I'm a little wary buying something that hasn't even been checked out yet.

nope..not transferrable.on ly good for original owner.Need sales receipt with name on it and date of purchase.This is what happens when buying used(formerly owned) or non authorized by manufacturer/distributor items.Cannot have your cake and eat it too.
