The press release is not confirming their information - I would wait until passing judgement
 
I wasn't at Chac Mool at the time but am in the area and have heard most of the details. It sounds like a medical mishap which happened to take place in the cenote.

I've been in the news before. They get it wrong EVERY. TIME.
