Is the waterproof casing for S410 and S230 the same? they're about the same size but im not so sure with how the buttons on the waterproof casing stick in, if it hits the buttons on the camera. thanks in advance!

No they're not the same. Many of the Canon housings look very similar but have slight differences in button positions and shape. The housing for the S410 will only fit the s400, s410 and s500. Have a look at section 16 on this page http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/uwphoto/index-e.html
