I got PADI certified in open water and Nitrox in 2013.
I dove about 1 time a year. I had no friends in the sport and found it to be fun, but a lot of work.
Recently my friend got certified and I made a friend with someone who is as well. We all have about the same experience.
With that being said we have done 5 dives in the last 6-7 weeks and have a few more planned. We live in central FL so most of the dives are with 2-4 hours from us.
I just bought a computer (Mares Quad Air) and am eager to try it out.
