I bought a compressor from a shop that was closing down due to the owner passing away. Got a good deal on it(I hope). Wasnt a great deal, but wanted to help out the family with their loss. The main problem is they didnt have any manual or know who made it. I'm 99% sure it's a coltri block, but dont know who made the rest of it, or what size it is. Coltri makes blocks for lots of companies. I mainly need to know, first, to find someone to service it. And second, its 3 phase and would like to change to single phase, I could get a converter, but would prefer to switch motors, and need to know what all is needed to switch over.

What type of service are you talking about? Oil, filters, valves, etc are VERY easy to work on as long as you know what end of the wrench to use. And as for the motor, it is an easy job to pull off the three phase motor and install a single phase motor. 7 1/2 hp tells me it is an MCH16 and should pump about 9 cfm.

Well long story short, I decided the simplest solution so far was to install a single phase to 3 phase rotary converter (so I dont have to mess with any of the auto shutoff wiring), it works great. Coltri does have some fantastic diy videos on how to maintain the compressor. I found a company that is going to come look at it and service it. After it gets serviced by them once I am confident I can maintain it myself. I just wish I knew exactly who made it in case of questions on the auto shutoff(wiring and relays troubleshooting) and auto drain systems. It appears that arctic compressor 1000 uses the same auto drain block so I can probably ask them questions on it. Also, without knowing any of its service history (valve replacement, rings, overhaul), not knowing hours since they were last done, is there any way to know when they are needing replaced besides hours?
