Have you done anything to reduce the noise from your compressor? How well did it work? Did it create any new problems (such as issues with overheating), and if so, how have you dealt with those? Did it work? Thanks!

BIG intake filters, and put them as far away from what you want to hear, that's the best thing and first place to start to silence any compressor. After that you can check all of the mounting bushings to make sure it is isolated from anything hard which can cause it to chatter.

We used to have our compressor in it's own little room that was inside our store. The room was insulated with egg crate foam on all the walls and the door. We had a heat removing fan on the ceiling and air conditioning to keep everything cool. It worked great and, while we could tell it was running, it wasn't loud at all and none of the other businesses in the strip mall could even hear it running.

Stand far far away.

External air intake made a huge difference for me. Much louder outside, but that doesn't much bother me.
