Did it stay around in the same spot over days or weeks like a lot of other marine life? Or was it just a one time spotting?
one-time. At least I didn't see it again.

We were out between the end of the 2nd reef (turtle cleaning station) and the patch reefs known to some as "arch rock" and "bicolor anthias rock."

Unfortunately, he vanished or moved house after the ugly weather we had back in January. He was in the same area for a couple of years, at least. Same with the barred conger eel. And yes,I also have seen the same kind (conger) in the sand at Molokini. It stayed there for months.

Jim (Gilligan) got a good photo of this crocodile eel when he dove with me last November.
