For me, I side sling it on the right. Keeps it clear of the Octo coming from the left (only us Brits tend to do this), also when RIB diving I can unclip it and hand it up before the main rig. Also less weight on my back.should it be on your back strapped to main cylinder or is it better to hang it on your side / front on bcd d rings where you can see the gauge on its 1st stage reg
