We just spent two weeks at Dauin in December, we found diving ok but not as good as expected for nudis and macro stuff in honesty. Apo was hood for reefs but lacked big fish even as most have been taken.we saw the normal like flambouyant cuttle fish and occasional froggies
We stayed at Mikes and found Gabbie an excellent guide, but have dived better places..could just be December is not a good month
hi weve been 5 time in the philipins so dauin is not so good for macro?

could be time of year as few nudis, one or two frogfish, one mimic and a group of 3 flamboyant cuttlefish…

I don't rate Dauin very high for nudis : mostly sacocoglossians (Costasiella. Lobiger, etc.), other than that not so many.
However in April May which is juvenile season you regularly come across 10 froggies and as many Ghostpipefish in one dive, good also for flamboyant cuttlefish and cephalopod eggs.
