I'm interested in purchasing an underwater camera for my daughter, and the DC1400 is intriguing, however the biggest "con" I've read about this camera is a slow shutter response. However, there is a new V1400 firmware upgrade that purports to improve shutter speed when set to infinity focus.

Has anyone had the opportunity to upload the new firmware and use the camera? If so, is the shutter response much improved?

I'd look at something like a cannon G15 and fantasy housing to be honest it will take a long time to grow out of that rather than the sealife

Yes, the shutter response has improved. However, it is still a bit slow but better than before.
