Not true at all. Just takes a little bit of work, but it is very doable. I know some are doing it OW. I do it in the caves. Longest haul I've done so far is with camera rig with 8" dome and 2 additional slave strobes was back 4200' into a cave and then dropped scooter to start taking pictures of a certain section. A little more drag of course, used to slow me down a bit, so I ended up getting a faster scooter.
