Yep, more like that. And, of course, one of the gloves flooded.
Now that's just nonsense!! 
A flooded glove is a no good glove. That can get you into trouble in a hurry.
And in case you didn't know, cave divers don't wear gloves. You have to be able to reach your instruments unencumbered.
Why would you wear gloves in Florida? Is the wildlife that dangerous?
I wouldn't!
Some of that stuff can get pretty prickly ......
