Do I need to soak my gear after diving in the fresh water springs of Florida or Mexico?

I kinda want to disinfect the regs which have been in my mouth or my buddy's mouth, at least.

Can I use Star San (Food grade phosphoric acid used in home brewing and wine making. 1 oz per 5 gallons. No rinse.) or do I need to use something else?

Is this Coronavirus related? If not for having some genuine reason to fear you or your buddy has a disease, I would say just rinse in tap water. The solution to pollution is dilution.

I think like 80% of people have HSV1 so I am trying to keep my negative status with that. I would bet that thousands have contracted HSV1 from the dumb primary donate rule and training exercises.

I am not trolling. I really am just this weird.

It is always a great idea to rinse your regs with tap water after driving in a fresh water spring. Really.

80%? Good heavens, where do you live?
You are aware that most cases of HSV1 are contracted as a child, and that most are asymptomatic?

You are also aware that if such a high percentage of those around you have HSV1 then it doesn't matter if they take your primary or not....they already have it, and don't get it twice. Also, do you suppose that the movement of the reg from one mouth to another might possibly rinse it off the mouthpiece?

There are also asteroids coming perilously near the earth; that is surely putting in you more jeopardy than a primary donate...unless you are out of air....
