Philippines Diving Vacation on Panay

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone is in the Antique, Philippines area from 17DEC to 4JAN and wants to dive virgin dive sites give us a call. We will be diving the west coast of Panay. It is in the western visayas region below Boracay. We are able to dive guide two more divers. We can arrange for your transportation, lodging and meals. You will need to bring your own dive gear. We will supply air, tanks, lead, boat, and dive guide for $20/day/unlimited diving. That's right, as much diving as is safe is only $20/day. Come to Culasi, Antique, Philippines and see some of the greatest dive sites on Earth. If you have a non-diving partner that loves to tan, relax, and just become a beach vegetable we can set that up as well. Go to our web site and write us to find out more. Offer closes on 9DEC. :14:

How far is Antique from Iloilo City? If I take the ferry from Bacolod to Iloilo, how long will it take to get there?

The trip from Iloilo to Culasi is about 4 hours by car/bus. The National Highway is not completed yet....so, it takes a bit.

can you at least post a "how to get there". Starting say, from Manila to Antique? PAL/Asian Spirit/Cebu Pacific? and once in the airport in Antique province (where? what City?), what's next? Tnx

You must have missed it....it is on the DIVE SITE page. Looks like my page design is bad...gotta fix that one.

how long from Roxas? I have a lot of family in Roxas so if I ever go there (should be sometime next year) I'll definitely want to check you guys out.

and ya - it'd be good to fix up the webpage a bit. :) Maybe use a smaller font. Download the yahoo site builder. It's pretty good and I've used it before.

Wouldn't it be faster from Manila to fly into Caticlan? And Chip, from Roxas it's pretty far. Like...3-4 hours drive over thru Kalibo to Caticlan. From there its about an hour down to Culasi. From Iloilo going up the Antique coast is at least 4 hours and a lot of dirt road. It may be faster to go through Kalibo now that the road is paved most all the way from Iloilo to there. Babydamulag, have you dived Anani'i yet. Nogas Island?

Negative on Anani'i and Nogas. We are so busy tryng to map dive sites and learn the underwater topography of our place that we don't get to do much else. It is an adventure to say the least.....but it is a real blast!!!

Check it out. It's got a nice wall and had lots of coral before.
There is another spot about 90 miles or so straight west of there called Piedra Blanca (White Rock...probably from all the bird droppings) and the fisherman say it's unreal....like, they fill their boats there every time. If you look on a sounding map there is a big deep spot going out into the Sulu Sea and it comes up on a shelf running east to west there which extends all along West Panay going north. Piedra Blanca sits right on the edge of the shelf. I would imagine it gets a lot of water movement during tide changes. You may need a bigger boat (15-18 meter) than the one you have and plan on a couple days there. I've always wanted to do that spot. Probably some BIG pelagics too.
