With consideration for the fine man, excellent diver, and just plain ole good guy that Paul is, as well as for those on this board that know him, let the classy and respectful decorum that this site typifies shine and may conjecture about what may have happened be held at bay until more information is known.

Condolences to his friends and family. Let's all hope this is the last thread of this sort we see this season.

Five divers, from left, Don Morse of Beverly, Dave Faye of Cambridge, Paul Blanchette of Dracut, Slav Mlch of East Boston, and Bob Foster of Foxborough prepare for a diving expedition while standing on their boat in Beverly on Aug. 13. The divers explored the remains of the S.S. Portland, the paddle-wheel ship that sank in 1898, carrying 190 aboard. The ship sank during New England's worst maritime disaster.

Just posted on TDS. Thoughts and condolences to the family! Very sad.

"Hello all,

With deepest regrets Paul's body was recovered a short time ago by the search team. Our deepest prayers go out to Paul, family, and friends.

He will be missed by many.
