Hasn't really been advertised too much in the news. Only reason I knew about it is because a coworker was on his sailboat this weekend and heard the call come in and he said they reported the crew was doing CPR on deck. Article says 10 miles east of Cape Lookout, that would put it in the Caribsea area. Wreck is about 85' to the sand. It's close to the shoals so current and visibility can be issues, although recently the dive conditions have been great.

Hope all involved are ok.

Coast Guard medevacs diver suffering from decompression sickness

The diver survived the event.

He was retrieving (reeling in) a line he had run along the outside of the wreck as part of the Wreck Diver specialty course, when he apparently experienced buoyancy issues and made a rapid ascent. He was pulled from the water by the boat crew, placed on oxygen, and the Coast Guard was called. They responded quickly, and airlifted him to a medical facility, where he is recovering.

Dive conditions were good at the time -60 ft visibility, little / no current. .

It's great to see good news here for a change!
