This is a chance for me to be famous and set a record! First person eaten by a Great White in Florida waters.

They get seen u/w every year as well as many sightings above.I have at least a dozen buddies who've seen one u/w from Ft. Pierce to SC.I've seen one in Jax and in SC.And yes all while spearfishing as there are very few rec. divers who dive in the conditions and time of year they are prevalent.
I am more afraid of drunk boaters and the folks leaving the tiki bar.

Never the less it is proven Scientology fact that Great Whites will eat a Lobster Diver during mini season. Abandon All Hope and stay out of the water for Mini Season..

HMMMMMM ??....Let's see....Cave diving;...no chumming, no spear fishing, no lobstering========NO SHARKS ;O !!!!!!!

OK moosicman, that was pretty darn intimidating to me!! wow!! BTW, what exactly did you say to the camera when you looked back and gestered after your encounter: I have a pretty good guess.

For those looking to fast forward a little, start the youtube video at the 3:00 mark.

I'm both thankful, and sorry, to say this video isn't mine. I'm over on the gulf side of things in PC. Never been diving in the Atlantic. It is one that I remember watching from last year. BTW, in the comments section he says he is 170' deep. That is a typo, he is at 70'. Don't know why he hasn't/won't change it. I'll save you all the hassle of reading the comments to find that out. Anyway, pretty cool, creepy video. I once had some photos someone took of GW's here in the gulf area. They're definitely RARE birds. And a lot of ppl will see a Shortfin Mako and accuse it of being a juvenile GW.

Additionally interesting is the fact that we've had BASKING sharks visit us and nearly a year apart to the exact day!
