Much to my amazment their licence was revoked quite a while ago... suppose that shows you how long it's been since I thought of diving with them the first go round eh?

Wow !
So glad I asked. Guess i'll look into Clive's schedule more closely.
It seems like he's high on everybodies list.

Thanks for the links and the heads up.
It's amazing that PADI's five star logo is still up on their site.
And what about those students that go there for certification ?

Okay, so the 5star logo has been removed.
But, if you go to PADI's SPORT DIVER website, they are still listed.

I was wondering the same thing? I just looked at their site and they charge $395.00 for an OW course. I would be mad to find out after I got home that my certification
wasn't any good.

I've used both Red Sail and Unique...both were comparable, but I didn't run into any cruise ship people at Red Sail and dove three days with the boats 1/3 full. Unique was more crowded and boats a bit older and smaller, but the people easier to deal with. Unique and Pelican are now the same company I believe.

Aruba has reasonable diving, but the surface life beats other ABC islands, especially if you like casinos.

I agree!!!!! I was there in August and their PADI sign was still up! I feel pad for those students also! When I was downtown they had a boat full of people and I could only guess some of them were just starting their certification process (the had troubles getting gear ready!).

It wasn't until this past year that I questioned a lot of the so called PADI dive companies that are strung out along the beach offereing some sort of dive program. I know I didn;t see that many onthe PADI site. I suppose that is a lesson in the ' check the PADI site and if the deal is good and they're not listed, it's too good to be true!'

It also makes you wonder how they can get newer versions of PADI posters and still claim to be part of PADI ... and get away with it! (NAUI too but I don't know much about them from that standpoint!).

Have an awesome time on your trip! Enjoy the diving and a Big Hello to Clive (from everyone on this post so far I guess eh?)!

Toodles for now

Don't like the Pedernallis????? Try to find a good diveguide. because this divesite has some real nice surprises for every diver. problem with the bigger divecenters is that they stick to their schedules and times. also they have their regular "route" on the divesite.
Should ask them about the airplane wing and the 2 big coral hills. i bet you that none of the regular diveguides knows these places on the pedernallis. also the lost part is very beautiful on the pedernallis.

I found out about Clive and Dive Aruba from this site, and was not disappointed. I found him to be very conscientious, as well as letting you dive your computer. On one drift dive (2nd of 2-tank morning) he said, "Take 1 and 1/2 hour, more or less'.
