Hello Vettster,

I also live in Tokyo and do a lot of diving at Izu peninsula near tokyo.

The diving is pretty good, however it is not as good as in the Caribbean or around Mexico. The water is a little colder and the Vis is not as good and diving here is not cheap. But I do like diving in Japan.

But you will also be a short flight from places like Chuuk(Truk), Palau, Yap, Thailand and Okinawa to name a few.

See you around.

Hi Frank,

Just moved to Tokyo myself. Haven't done any diving here yet (as my gear is still in transit) but you might want to check out:

As I say haven't been with them yet but am booked on a trip in October. As with a lot of stuff over here diving is expensive but as worlddiverwolf points out you've got all that diving on your doorstep - I'm off to Guam next month and it's only a 4 hour flight!

If you or anyone else out there needs a buddy for let me know - always happy to get my head wet!! (Having been based in the UK until July I am not only a fair weather diver...)
