Not great to be honest, you can dive in Koh Tao in November but the monsoon season starts around then - you'll be better off going to the Andaman Sea side at that month of the year.

As a basic 'rule of thumb' for Thailand diving seasons:
Gulf of Thailand - March/April to August/September.
Andaman Sea - October/November to April/May.

These are high season months for diving but diving can be found all year round.
Naturally, changeable weather can come into play.

TheWartHog thanks for the info, I will give Koh tao a miss on this trip and dive the Andaman sea.

The Andaman Sea has the best diving year round, so a wise choice. However, the talk about 'don't dive there this time of year and 'dive there that time of year', is most of the time not correct.

If you want to go to Koh Tao in November you can do so, and I'm sure you'll have a good time (just not so good diving but that has far less to do with time of year than most people think).

Last year on Koh Tao monsoon started mid December & there wasn't much rain, this year it "started" mid October & who knows how long it will last for, the advertised November monsoon in the guide books doesn't apply anymore. Yesterday the viz around the dive sites close to the island is 8-12m, not great, but on Chumphon Pinnacle was 20m+
