Ain't no fish a-shootin' or bug a-huntin' in the Bahamas.

I too did 14 dives when I did the UG. Since I live right down the street from the Ultimate Getaway's marina it is always a temptation, but it aint cheap....or I aint rich....or one of the two. I guess what is so cool to me about the Tortugas is how remote the area is. Even though there is some dry land, one is basically in the open ocean. Somehow I picture that the Tortugas are what all of the Keys' reefs once looked like two hundred years ago and an area I am very fortunate to have visited.

Unless things have changed......not exactly true, but you can't hunt on SCUBA and you can't use a gun with a trigger.

walter is correct; no spearfishing(includes the harvesting of any marine life; lobster, conch etc) w/scuba in the bahamas. freediving is permitted, pole spears and hawaiian slings only. also, size and daily bag limits(6 lobster per person, reguardless of days spent in islands, season is 8/1 thru 3/31) have recently been reduced due to declining fish stocks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
