We stayed at El Galleon in March for 9 days and can't wait to return.
Our room was at the top of the staircase from hell but we ate so well we needed the exercise. There are no stairs if you settle for a poolside room. All the staff were fantastic, we did 4 dives on most days and there was time on the intervals to grab a bite to eat back at the resort. Everything was well organised and very comfortable.
Highly recommend making the trip over to Verde Island... there is a bit of a surcharge but absolutely incredible.

stay somewhere on big la laguna beach instead of sabang beach. its just walking distance and big la laguna is much much nicer and more quiet. we stayed at cambell's beach resort and after seeing all the places on sabang beach and big la laguna, it is the only place I will stay at next time. we got really lucky when choosing that place. you can see the location on google earth...its at the far end of big la laguna beach which is just west of sabang beach.
