I noticed that two days next week are forecast for having winds out of the WNW. On one day, the wind is forecast at 13 mph, and on the next at 4 mph. Does this constitute an El Norte, and is it likely to interfere with diving operations? Thanks.

From what I have read there are other factors they take into account other than just wind speed. If the winds are 20 mph or more you can count on the port being closed to boats under 40 ft.
I will be in Coz Saturday for a week, looks like Monday is the questionable day with winds peaking in the afternoon.
Hopefully we can get morning dives in. Fingers crossed!

Not a classic norte but iffy on a port closure. With such a westerly component it might make diving the east side wonderful.

While winds out of the NW are still forecast for this coming Monday, it looks like there may be a longer stretch of winds out of the north beginning on Saturday the 28th through Tuesday the 31st.

It appears there may be a need for a little more positive thinking out there:(

We got out for one dive this morning then they closed the port. Our dive parkas were very popular today! Tomorrow looks OK.

Please have all Nortes done and over with by mid March. I will be in Cozumel the last two weeks of March, and hope to dive every day !!

Glad to see you were able to get at least one in Dave. We were not able to go out at all.
Had lunch at the Lobster Shack and a couple of Modelos. It's all good.
