Help!
I would like to get a flash/strobe set up for my Oly 5060. I use the PT-020 housing and the flash works fine in clear water. However, in the PNW, the dark waters of Washington state, I need more light!
Any help or advice in what direction to take would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kirsten

Thanks for the great info. I went to Inon website and couldn't seem to find info on the D-180, but am really looking into Ikelite DS-50 or 125. What is the difference between the two? Also, I am at a complete loss as to TTL Conversion Circuitry. Any help?
Does anyone also know of a good dealer to go through for a purchase?
Thanks again,
Kirsten

Hi Kirsten

The only person I know of that manufactures TTL conversion circuitry is Michael Finger in Germany . His site is in German but if you e - mail him he will respond in English . I have his converter for the Sea & Sea YS 90 Auto and it works very well .

www.mike-dive.de is his home site .

The D-180 has been replaced by the D-2000. Same as the D-180 with the addition of Psuedo-TTL functionality. I really suggest you look at it.
A good dealer (and someone who can answer a lot of questions) that many on Scubaboard use is Ryan at www.reefphotovideo.com . His Scubaboard id is Ryan. Another dealer is that I have used is Marine Camera Distributors www.marinecamera.com .

Thanks for the great info. I will check it out and probably ask some more questions.
Thanks again,
Kirsten

Had a nice dive at Sunset Beach monday, and your right the PNW waters are dark!

Wow! That looks like a great package. I did some research yesterday (about 2 hours worth-again) and I am leaning towards the Ikelite DS-125 setup.
Anybody have any negs or poz to say?
Any advice. Where to purchase?
Thanks again,
Kirsten

I found an artice on several strobes. The DS-125 was the heavest and largest strobe tested. I don't know if it is a concern of yours but this is the only strobe that uses a proprietary battery i.e. does not use AA batteries. Also this strobe uses a controller
to sync with the cameras strobe. (most stuff to purchase and carry) You have to use a shutter speed of 1/250 or slower or the shutter will close before the strobe
completes its cycle. Please check out the Inon D-2000. Backscatter has some pictures and specs. Happy diving...
