February diving? Please help

My company is asking us on suggestions for this years meeting, I would like to go somewhere warm so I can dive, and take my open water course.
Anyone have any suggestions for somewhere in the states? Also I might be able to convince them to go to a all inclusive in Mexico because the prices might be cheaper for them.

Here is what they are looking for:

Date is feb 2,3,4 with option for us to stay longer.

They need a hotel big enough for 100+ people.

A large conference room for meetings and awards dinner.

We will be flying people in from mostly mid eastern states



What I am looking for is a good dive spot for my certification.

Take a look at Hawk's Cay in the middle keys. Good dive op for certification on property - Dive Duck Key, Joe and Wendy.

I would look at Cozumel Mx.
Since most of the people are non-divers, correct??? Cozumel will give them something to do (lots of topside activities on island and also on mainland).
Be aware though that Feb is when they have Carnivale, so prices may be higher that week.
Cozumel is also accessible directly from most major US airports.

It's almost November and your company is still looking for a venue to hold a meeting for 100 people in about 100 days from now?

Really?

The US? No.

You will not be able to get certified in those 3 days, not if you are "attending a meeting".

All of this foolishness aside, your likely best option is the Bahamas, Nassau or Lucaya Grand Bahama.

The need for one room with seating for 100 is going to be a big deciding factor.

Planning this for 100+ people, starting right now with travel in 100 days away.

We are a full service travel agency; one of our specialties is dive travel. Having been diving for 38 years I would recommend Key Largo if you want to stay in the states. Good connections are available to mid west via Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. The Hilton Key Largo Grand can handle a group of that size. We can put a group page on our site and on the Hilton site, as well for the event. We work closely with Hilton properties and would be very confident in recommending them. We have the capabilities to package air, ground transportation, accommodations and meeting facilities and services.

As for the diving, I have several operators that I work with in Largo. There are many dive sites ranging in depth from 15’ to 130’ so diving can be tailored to meet the experience of any diver including course work.

I know it's not up to me, My VP is looking for suggestions I agree he should of started looking back in July he also has to cord the flights from all over the us. I am just trying to get a place somewhere where I can get my cert. I would of course opted to stay a week so I would have time to dive and fly.

That is why he probably needs a Travel Agent to coordinate this event. We have several other options open, that can fit what you want and keep it within a budget.
