I just got recently certified in Open Water SCUBA in South Florida. I took two things off my bucket list in one weekend. 1st thing was get certified in SCUBA Diving 2nd thing was getting to finally swim and interact with sharks!!. This was pretty awesome. I always been that one that wants to see the "Men in the Grey suits" everytime I go to the beach. I think sharks are one of the most misunderstood creatures on earth they are truly amazing animals in person..I think I might be that diver who WANTs to see sharks while SCUBA diving!

Congratulations! That was an eventful weekend. Where you on the Gulf coast or the Atlantic?

Erik

Congrats.s on the two goals attained. A lot of us like to see sharks. What kind did you see? Any more dive trips planned?

Richard.
I believe they were nurse sharks and I think at least one Reef Shark. I am thinking of planning some dives in Miami area. I have to do some more research for places around Central Florida as well.

Yes it was and I was on the Atlantic side. Visibility was pretty good considering the fact, FL has had a rainy couple of weeks.

A couple of trip reports to give an introduction to a couple of east coast Floridean destinations:

Jupiter 2014 - http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/florida-diving/491927-jupiter-trip-report-9-7-14-9-11-14-a.html

This next one is for consideration when you're much more seasoned, given that you like shark encounters:
